4. University of Ibadan: This university is the oldest and most prestigious university in Nigeria. Located about 8 kilometres from the major city of Ibadan in Western Nigeria, the university runs over ten faculties including Technology, Law, Public Health and Dentistry and Social Sciences. Notable alumni and world-acclaimed personalities affiliated with the university include Things Fall Apart author Chinua Achebe and Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka.
5. University of Ghana: Ghana’s premier university is also the oldest and largest of all universities in Ghana. Founded in 1948 as the University College of the Gold Coast, the University can now boast of over 50,000 students.
