MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa is reported to have declined President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s offer for him to be formally recognised as the leader of the opposition in parliament.

However, Nelson Chamisa’s spokesperson Nkululeko Sibanda has who had previously said that Chamisa is open to dialogue in order to advance the interest has said that Chamisa is declining the offer which he views as a bribe. Speaking to the Daily News, Sibanda said,

Zanu-PF’s secretary for legal affairs Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana has dismissed the opposition as crybabies for their stance. Said Mangwana,

We can’t force them to behave to be normal people, the president will continue to handle the situation like a true and mature statesman, it’s up to them to behave as normal opposition or crybabies, our president is a statesman, he is a leader, unfortunately we have that kind of opposition who are sore losers but that will not stop the country from running, we will not lose sleep over sore losers.
