ALTHOUGH they appear to be absolutely indispensable communication tools these days, you may be wondering what the disadvantages of mobile phones are?
For this ask a Bulawayo man, Themba Sibanda, whose philandering acts were exposed after his daughter secretly activated the call monitoring device in his phone which reportedly enabled his wife to listen to his “steamy” conversations with his girlfriends.
Themba Sibanda (63) from Bellevue suburb indicated to the Bulawayo Civil Court that his cheating antics came to light after his daughter who is at university secretly intercepted his phone conversations with girlfriends.
This was after his wife Thandeka Sibanda (59) who was seeking a protection order against him claimed that he was emotionally abusing her by occasionally comparing her to his girlfriends.

“He is a man who is fond of girlfriends and whenever he comes back home, he would be phoning them and telling them that they are better than me. Since his conduct is disturbing my peace I want the court to stop him from doing so,” pleaded Thandeka.
In response the cornered Themba, however, blamed his daughter for selling him out.
“Everything that she said is not true and some of the accusations she levelled against me happened in the 80s. I do not remember any incident I was made to pay a fine at the police for assaulting her.
“On the issue of girlfriends I have a daughter who is at university and she is diverting my calls leading my wife to listen to my private calls,” he said.
Presiding magistrate Sheunesu Matova, however, ordered Themba not to physically, verbally and emotionally abuse his wife. In a bid to save the couple’s marriage which is apparently on the brink of collapse the magistrate referred the two parties for counselling.
