Acie Lumumba CAUGHT In The Crossfire As Finance Minister DISTANCES Self From ‘Corrupt RBZ Bigwigs’ Name & Shame Video

The move by Acie Lumumba to expose the current ongoings within the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has hit a snag after Minister Mthuli Ncube distanced self from all the utterances he (Lumumba) purportedly made on their behalf.

This follows the Facebook video that Lumba released yesterday in which he exposed ‘corrupt’ bigwigs in the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. He accused high ranking officials of running an illegal forex cartel and capturing the country’s central bank.

Lumumba was recently appointed as the Chairperson of the ministry’s ‘Communications Taskforce’ but however it has emerged that his post is yet to be operationalized within the legal framework before it’s officialized.

The ministry of information announced this latest development on their Twitter account.

“Minister of Finance, Hon Mthuli Ncube would like to inform the public that he doesn’t have a spokesperson outside institutions of govt. Regarding the “Communications Taskforce”, he is yet to operationalise it as he is dealing with requirements of PRAZ & Civil Service Commission”

According to Lumumba’s letter of appointment he was to commence his work from the 19th of October but the ministry said a ‘mistake’ had been made

“Mistakes were made but advice from govt lawyers indicate there are legal housekeeping issues regarding the Procurement Act Cap 22:14 which need to be regularised and the Ministry of Finance is dealing with that” they replied.
This sudden move is rumored to be an attempt to keep Lumumba on a tight leash amid fears that his naming and shaming tirade would expose more powerful people who are believed to be among the ‘sacred cows’.
