Marcel Niat Njifenji, the President of the Upper House, solemnly announced this Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at a meeting of the Senate at the Palais des congrès in Yaoundé:
Senator Mafany Musonge Peter, aged 75, Decided to resign from the Senate to concentrate on his new duties as President of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism (CNPBM).
Thus, the former Prime Minister, Head of Government and Senator Rdpc appointed from the Southwest Region, refuses to be part of the long list of senior managers in Cameroon.
Appointed by presidential decree on Wednesday 15 March 2016 as president of the CNPBM, Peter Mafany Musonge will now be fully involved in the leadership of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism, Following the Anglophone crisis.
The CNPBM is one of the national structures "whose mission is to propose solutions for maintaining peace, consolidating the unity of our country and strengthening our will and our daily practice of living together", said the President of the Republic , Paul Biya, in his message to the nation on December 31, 2016.
