Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has called on his players to grasp the chance of becoming ‘Anfield legends’ by beating Sevilla in the finals of the Europa League at the St. Jakob-Park in Basel on Wednesday.
Liverpool stormed into their first continental decider in nine years following their 4-0 aggregate win over Villarreal in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Klopp said it is a perfect moment for the side to end the club’s 11-year drought for European glory.
“How it feels to be a Liverpool legend I have no idea. But it is one of the best things you can feel in football. I would be really pleased for the boys if they can do it. In my opinion we are really in a perfect moment to play a final. This hard, intensive seven months feels like it should end in a final,” the German was quoted as saying by goal.com.
Klopp further expressed his confidence over his team, saying that Liverpool are hungry to win and they would be at their absolute best against Sevilla.
“If you could see inside the players you would see it. It is not about motivation anymore. We will be on the highest motivation level ever. It is not possible to have more. We only have to handle it. We will be ready. It is about doing the right things in the right moment,” he added.
