DIEGO COSTA and Oscar had to be pulled apart by shocked Chelsea team-mates yesterday after a furious training ground bust-up.

Brazilian midfielder Oscar caught Costa with a knee high challenge after the Spanish striker went in hard on him first.

The two flash points were a few minutes apart.

But after Oscar’s lunge the pair squared up and had to be separated at the club’s Surrey training base.

A Chelsea source insisted that no punches were thrown and despite their initial anger, the pair quickly made up, laughing about the incident at the end of the training session.

While Costa has a hothead reputation Oscar is considered far more mild-mannered.

But Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink is understood to be relaxed about the bust-up between two of his stars.

ACTION: Both are to be punished by the club

Meanwhile, Radamel Falcao’s Chelsea ordeal is set to end with the champions in talks to return him to Monaco.

The Colombian striker was hoping to resurrect his ailing career on loan at Stamford Bridge this season but has scored just once, having also failed at Manchester United last term.

He has not played since the end of October and was in Monaco earlier this week to have checks on a thigh injury, ahead of his expected return.

He was at Chelsea’s training ground yesterday and today.

But he will return to France when the two clubs agree what proportion of his £200,000-a-week wages they will each pay for the rest of the season.
