The Institute of Corporate Directors Zimbabwe (ICDZ) recently held its second business leaders.
The awards aimed to recognise independent corporate directors of public, private and non-profit board directors who have made valuable contributions to the boards on which they serve.
This award also included entire boards that significantly protected or enhanced stakeholder value, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic period.
"The 2020 awards also recognised leadership, excellence and accomplishment of corporate directors in Zimbabwe, including those from non-profit governance experience.
The awards honour individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Zimbabwe's enterprises and non-profit organisations through their governance and leadership excellence in the boardroom. The ICDZ empowers many directors to lead with confidence in the boardroom, helping boards strengthen investor trust and public confidence.
Dr Debra Brown, President of Governance Solutions and Dr Ashraf Gama El Din, chief executive of Institute of Corporate Governance in Dubai, spoke at the awards held at the Rainbow Towers Hotel.
There were 30 awards in 16 categories, including the highly-contested Zimbabwe's Most Influential Young Corporate Directors Award.
