When you've won the Champions League twice, Serie A six times and one glorious World Cup with Italy, you can be fairly certain your opinion holds serious weight with football fans.

Not only has Andrea Pirlo won all that silverware, he's done so in unprecedented style. A magician in the midfield, the bearded genius has wowed supporters the world over with his masterly technique and languid brilliance.

However, it's quite possible he's just dented his near-universal popularity with a controversial Premier League XI.

Though Andrea has never played in England himself, he's worked alongside numerous pros who have; he clearly knows the league pretty well. In a recent interview with Shortlist, he was asked to name his current Premier League dream team.

Manchester United fans probably won't be too pleased with his picks.

Pirlo has chosen no fewer than FIVE Manchester City stars in his team. Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero all make the grade.

While three Arsenal stars make the final cut, two Chelsea players and a single Liverpool man represent a fairly paltry return for the Premier League's other big clubs.

Nonetheless, it's United fans who'll be left feeling the most aggrieved by Pirlo's picks. Harsh from Andrea - but fair?
