REAL MADRID are ready to launch a mega-million swoop on the Premier League with the likes of Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, David de Gea and John Stones all in their sights.

The Spanish giants - and cross-city rivals Atletico - have been hit with a transfer embargo by FIFA for breaching rules regarding the signing of foreign players under 18.

Both clubs immediately confirmed they would be appealing against the ban, which would prevent them signing players this summer and in the January 2017 transfer window.

But the ruling looks set to spark an amazing swoop by the 10-times European champions.

It also looks sure to end any hopes Manchester United had of luring Gareth Bale back to England or PSG buying superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

The decision to appeal means that even if the ban is implemented it would be put back by one transfer window and not come into effect until next January.

That would give the Spanish side one last opportunity to go spending spree this summer to stock up on players before the ban kicks in.

Barcelona were found guilty of the same offence in 2014, prompting them to spend £131m on seven players - including £75m to land Luis Suarez from Liverpool - before the sanction started.

They also bought Arda Turan from Atletico and Aleix Vidal from Sevilla last summer but they were unable to play until the turn of the year, although still allowed to train with their new team mates.

Spurs striker Kane, Chelsea’s Footballer of the Year Hazard and Everton centre back John Stones are high on Madrid’s shopping list, along with long-time target, Manchester United keeper De Gea.

Atletico, who currently top the table in Spain, look set to step up their interest in re-signing Chelsea’s Diego Costa. They are also said to be keen on Watford’s Nigerian sensation Odion Ighalo.

It looks unlikely any of these high-profile transfers will go through in this window, but the all-powerful Bernabeu outfit are sure to turn up the heat in the summer.

It also seems unthinkable they will now let either Ronaldo and Bale go, whatever the offers from PSG and United.

Denying the FIFA charges, Real put out a statement which read: “Real Madrid will appeal this decision of FIFA in all the sporting incidents, considering them absolutely inappropriate.”

Atletico said: “Our club is not in agreement with the sanction from international football’s governing body and will study all the documentation we’ve received to present an appeal against the sanction.”
