Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has stuck the boot into Liverpool by insisting Manchester United will never be title failures.
The Anfield outfit have not won the title for a staggering 26 years and do not look like ending their long wait this season. |

The Dutchman said: “I am part of the transition, so I cannot imagine that shall happen with Manchester United.
“As you say, when it happens to Liverpool it can happen to United, but I cannot imagine that.”
While United have not won silverware themselves since 2013, Van Gaal is convinced United’s stature means they won’t endure the same misery as their neighbours.
“We are in transition and are going in the right way,” said the Dutchman.
“Maybe it shall take a longer time, but I cannot imagine it shall be the same for United.
“It (United) is too big and too well organised. We have an infra-structure and we are proving that every year.”
United go into the showdown hoping to boost their Champions League qualification hopes with a fourth straight win over Liverpool.

In this fixture last season Reds legend Steven Gerrard was sent-off within 48 seconds of going on as a second half substitute.
Van Gaal said: “It is how the fans see it (the biggest game in Premier League). I have felt it also already, four times.
“We have played each other four times - in the USA and the league. You can see it in the faces of the players.
“Last year (Steven) Gerrard came in and was sent off. That doesn’t happen so much.
But the passion to play these kinds of games is very high. We need to be aggressive, but also under control.”
Van Gaal and Klopp will do battle for the first time since last clashing in the Bundesliga and in what will be the German’s first taste of one of the biggest games in club football.
Van Gaal has backed his rival to be a big hit at Anfield and he added: “You can see a very aggressive and pressing kind of playing the game.
“He has to learn the rhythm of the Premier League. He knows already the difference between the German and Premier Leagues.
“He is very capable to be a manager in the Premier League. The fans will love it.”
