Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made revelations that Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson is one of his role models.

The German tactician has made an impressive start to life at Anfield and has received a note of praise from the former United chief.

But the former Borussia Dortmund coach has risked angering the Reds supporters by choosing one of their bitter rivals legends as one of his idols.

Klopp revealed that he looks up to Fergie and he was delighted to hear from the Scotsman.

‘He said congratulations and the rest is private,’ Klopp said.

‘But I’ve had the huge honour of meeting him a few times and of course he is a role model for every manager in football.

‘It was a big pleasure because he’s a funny person and something like a book of history in football so it was good to spend some time with him.’
