David Beckham may be the most recognisable footballer of the 21st century but the former England captain has made stunning revelations that he’s a bigger fan of rugby nowadays.

The ex-Manchester United man retired in 2013 following a distinguished career in which he plied his trade in England, Spain, Italy, France and the United States.

The 40-year-old has thrown himself into charity work since hanging up his boots and he recently completed a tour in which he hosted football matches across all seven continents in aid of UNICEF.
And Beckham, who said he always felt uneasy going to watch his beloved Manchester United as a kid, has revealed that the ‘nastiness’ between rival fans during football matches has led him to enjoying rugby more in his retirement.

‘I love rugby,’ Beckham told the Radio Times.

‘I love watching it and I love the whole thing. I have enjoyed going to Twickenham more than I have enjoyed watching football.’

When Beckham was pushed on his reasons for favouring Rugby he replied: ‘People sitting together with no nastiness.’
