Tyson Fury clinched three World heavyweight champion titles after beating Wladimir Klitschko in 12 rounds of boxing on Saturday night in front of 50,000 spectators at the Esprit-Arena.

Klitschko suffered surprisingly the fourth loss of his career to lose the WBA (World Boxing Association), IBF (International Boxing Federation) and WBO (World Boxing Organisation) titles to contender Tyson Fury, who made use of his speed and arm length to seal the win following a unanimous decision (115:112, 115:112, 116:112) after 12 rounds, reports Xinhua.

The 39-year-old Ukrainian title defender remained too passive throughout the fight and was unable to close the distance to Fury, whose arm range remained an insoluble problem for Klitschko.

Fury dictated the pace from the start meanwhile Klitschko lacked in ideas to threat the agile 27-year-old contender from Manchester in any way. As the fight progressed, Klitschko sustained cuts under both eyes. The title defender never gained a foothold into the fight although he got more active in the last three rounds.

In the 12th and last round, Klitschko pressed frenetically for the knockout but Fury, who was visibly exhausted, remained calm and killed the clock.

“I was very well prepared. I didn’t believe he would make it but I lacked in speed today. He was incredibly fast. His range played a major role. I really tried but it did not work out,” said dethroned Wladimir Klitschko after the fight.

“A dream comes true. I’m speechless. It’s difficult to fight abroad and to go to the scorecards. Even In the last round I wasn’t even sure if I had on it,”, said Tyson Fury.

With the unanimous decision by the three judges, Fury remains unbeaten in the 25th fight to clinch the WBA, IBF and WBO belts meanwhile Wladimir Klitschko suffered his fourth loss, after 22 victories in row, in the 68th fight.
