Once you are in a happy, healthy relationship, there are regulations you need to follow so as to ensure you always get along well with your partner. Facebook has become a necessary platform in this day and age. In as much as it’s fun, it can also ruin your relationship. To prevent that from happening, here are things you shouldn’t do.

1. Brag about your relationship
It’s okay to be constantly overwhelmed with emotions once you are dating but don’t transfer your feelings to Facebook. If you do, you will bore your Facebook friends. Furthermore, you’ll make your partner uncomfortable. People already get the picture and you don’t have to push it in their faces, especially if they are in imperfect relationships themselves. Moderate your excitement, no one has to know all the details.

2. Broadcast your differences

If you are in a real relationship, with a real person then you should have real conversations. Seek conflict resolution and mending of hearts in person, not on a Facebook wall. Never use Facebook as a place to humiliate your partner or rant about their misdemeanors. It makes you look less smart. After all if you believe your partner is so bad, why don’t you get someone better?

3. Fail to acknowledge your partner
Your profile should have evidence that you’re in a relationship. When there are no pictures, statuses or links that hint that you’re attached, your partner might start being suspicious. Show the person you love that you are proud to be with them.

4. Keep photos of you exes

Photos of exes only bring back certain kinds of memories. You should do away with them. Instead of hurting the feelings of your new partner or making them jealous, just take them down and un-tag yourself in any other photos with your former lover. Even if you never go back and look at old photos, some friends and associates might do so and your girlfriend or boyfriend might not like that. . Respect the person you are currently dating and delete old online mementos of your past relationships.
5. Post suggestive pictures and statuses
You are no longer single so don’t post those suggestive photos that draw attention. Questionable photos should be a thing of the past once you are in serious relationship. Respect your partner by not sending wrong messages or seeking attention from others. Sexy poses and provocative writing should be for your partner’s private readership only.

6. Change the relationship status without consulting your partner
Before you change your relationship status to “In a relationship with…..” , make sure the relationship is serious first. The same applies to when you are removing the status. There’s a reason the founders of Facebook put this feature. Use it appropriately.
